Nashville, Tenn. (February 28, 2025) – Turnberry Records proudly announces the release of Pride of Appalachia, the highly anticipated album from Caleb Bailey & Paine's Run. A heartfelt tribute to the resilience, culture, and spirit of Appalachian life, this album delivers a powerful blend of storytelling, tradition, and top-tier musicianship.

"This is my DNA laid out in song; it has always been my desire to reflect on the life of ordinary folk—the true Pride of Appalachia," says Bailey, who continues to gain recognition as one of bluegrass music's most promising songwriters. Recently dubbed the "Virginia Storyteller," Bailey has crafted six of the album's ten tracks, including the evocative title track "Pride of Appalachia," as well as "Minneapolis-Moline," "Jollett Brown," and "The Corner of 12th & Clay."

Among the album's highlights, Bailey teamed up with bluegrass great Tim Stafford to co-write "The Story Silence Never Told," which earned a coveted performance spot at the 2023 IBMA Songwriter Showcase. He also collaborated with Brandon Kyle on "There's No Wind in the Eye of the Storm."

Two previously released singles, "Hard Working Country Preacher Man" (Mark "Brink" Brinkman, Terry Foust, Mike Evans) and "That's Alright" (David Stewart), have already topped multiple bluegrass radio charts. Other standout tracks include "Kentucky Boy" (Gary Ferguson, Paul Craft) and "Half Past You" (David Morris), all of which contribute to the album's rich tapestry of Appalachian life.

A Musical Tribute to Appalachian Heritage

Deeply connected to his roots, Bailey draws inspiration from the people and stories of the Blue Ridge Mountains, where his ancestors were displaced to make way for Skyline Drive. Through themes of love, farming, faith, and hardshipPride of Appalachia pays homage to the resilience and grit that define the region.

Bringing these stories to life is a stellar lineup of musicians:

Caleb Bailey – Lead vocals, guitar

Brandon Kyle – Bass

Chandler Beavers – Mandolin

Chad Darou – Dobro, baritone vocals

Rob Slusser – Banjo

Grottoes, VA (September 13, 2024) – Hot off the success "That's Alright," Turnberry Records announces the release of another single, "Minneapolis- Moline," from Caleb Bailey & Paine's Run.

"Minneapolis-Moline" is an original song written by Caleb Bailey, who is quickly garnering attention as one of bluegrass music's up-and-coming songwriters and has recently been dubbed the Virginia Storyteller. The song offers a unique perspective, capturing the plight of an Indiana farm family and their tractor, a Minneapolis-Moline. Caleb Bailey & Paine's Run takes the listener through the life of an impoverished Midwest childhood, but one that is rewarding and romanticized.

"So many people sing about John Deere, International Harvesters, and so on, I thought it would be cool to write about a tractor that may have been forgotten, 'Minneapolis-Moline,’ said Bailey. “The Midwest farming community is the backbone of our agriculture industry, and I think this song will resonate with the beauty and the struggle of life on the farm."

Indiana native, Ron Stewart, of The Boxcars and Seldom Scene fame, provided exceptional fiddle and banjo work and mixed and mastered the single. Also joining Bailey on this track is Brandon Kyle on bass, Wyatt Wood on guitar and tenor vocals, and Chandler Beavers on mandolin. This song was recorded at Homestead Studio by Caleb Cox, showcasing a collaboration of talented musicians.

"Being a Hoosier myself, this song tells exactly how it is in the farming communities throughout the state. Many hardships, but also, a great way of life. This song tells it from the seat of the family's tractor, the 'Minneapolis-Moline," said Tony Holt, Wildwood Valley Boys.

Bailey's talents extend beyond singing, songwriting, playing guitar, and leading a band. He recently announced the formation of a brand new bluegrass festival he is producing called No Bull…Just Bluegrass Festival, to be held in July 2025 at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

“Minneapolis-Moline” is now available at all major outlets and to radio programmers at Get It Played, Turnberry Records, and Hope River Entertainment.

Digital Release:
 New Singles from
Caleb Bailey & Paine’s Run on Turnberry Records

Grottoes, Va. (July 14, 2023) – Turnberry Records proudly announces two new singles from Caleb Bailey & Paine's Run. The band’s new Bluegrass music single "Pride of Appalachia" and the Bluegrass Gospel single "Hard Working Preacher Man" are available for streaming and purchasing at all major outlets.

"Pride of Appalachia" was written by singer-songwriter Caleb Bailey who is a direct descendant of the Dean family who was extracted from the Blue Ridge Mountains, now the Skyline Drive National Park. The song tells of some fundamental elements of the Appalachian spirit: mining, moonshining, strength, family, religion, and dialect. Bailey stated, "Pride of Appalachia’ is a song that I wanted to write for the rest of the world to feel what it was like to be Appalachian. The Cherokee and various other Native Americans, as well as the Scotch-Irish immigrants, had such an influence over the dialect and the culture, and I wanted people to be able to live in Appalachia through song."

“Pride of Appalachia” was recorded at Homestead Studio in La Plata, MD and mixed and mastered by Caleb Cox. Featured on the tune are Caleb Bailey on lead vocal and guitar; Wyatt Wood on guitar and tenor vocal; Chandler Beavers on mandolin; Brandon Kyle on bass; Merl Johnson on fiddle; Rob Slusser on banjo; and guest Chad Darou on Dobro and baritone vocals.

"Hard Working Country Preacher Man" was penned by Mark "Brink" Brinkman, Terry Foust, and Dave Evans and tells the tale of bygone days and barn revivals in the south’s Bible belt in Georgia. The descriptive and distinct imagery captivates you from the beginning to the end of the song. "It was such an honor to be able to record one of Brink’s songs. Having a 5-time IBMA nominee for Songwriter of the Year pitch you a song is special, but to be able to cut it and have it as the debut gospel release for this project, is truly an honor. We got a great studio cut, and I'm certain our fans will be enjoying this song for quite some time.”

Brinkmann said, "I co-wrote ‘Hard Working Country Preacher Man’ with my good friends and great songwriters, Mike Evans and Terry Foust. We wanted to capture the life of one of the many people that worked the farm during the week and preached God's Word on the weekend, as these rural areas couldn't afford full-time preachers. Caleb Bailey & Paine's Run really bring our song to life!"

Joining Caleb Bailey on "Hard Working Country Preacher Man" are Wyatt Wood on guitar and tenor; Chandler Beavers on mandolin; Rob Slusser on banjo; Brandon Kyle on bass; and Merl Johnson on fiddle. The song was mixed and mastered by Caleb Cox at Homestead Studio in La Plata, Maryland.

Caleb Bailey & Paine’s Run sign record deal with Turnberry Records

Turnberry Records is pleased to announce that bluegrass group Caleb Bailey & Paine’s Run has been added to the label’s impressive and growing roster of recording artists. The 6-piece ensemble hailing from Virginia has ranked on various charts, including holding the #1 slot on the Bluegrass Today Grassicana chart.

The outfit is headed by singer, songwriter, and guitarist Caleb Bailey, who created for himself a successful solo career, followed in 2021 by the creation of the full 6-member lineup of his current band. His solo record Poplar & Pine was a success, featuring Bailey’s first #1 song, “Grim Reaper.” More recently, Caleb Bailey and Paine’s Run garnered attention with the song “Camille,” which tells the story of how that 1969 tempest devastated Nelson County, Virginia.

Bailey is already preparing for his initial one-record, a one-year deal inked with the increasingly popular label. He said he expects his first releases through Turnberry will consist of singles, dropping sometime during the spring, with the full album releasing later in 2023.

Bailey said he is delighted to be added to the Turnberry roster and believes his group will bring benefits to the label as well.

“We’re a traditional bluegrass band that offers a unique sound that we own,” he explained, assuring that listeners won’t find covers on his records. He likens covers to trying to recreate masterpieces. “If you’re a painter, you won’t go out and try to re-paint the Mona Lisa,” he said. “That’s just not original.”

According to Bailey, “Turnberry just seems to be the ‘happening’ place to be.” Bailey said he looks forward to working alongside other quality Turnberry artists, including David Stewart, Greg Blake, and Rebekah Speer.

“We’re now booking for 2023,” Bailey said, “and we want to be part of spearheading the next chapter for Turnberry.”

Turnberry Records and Management look forward to this new relationship with the talented group Caleb Bailey & Paine’s Run. The label is a division of The Bluegrass Standard Magazine, which provides in-depth interviews with both the stars--and the up-and-coming new artists--in the worlds of bluegrass, country, Americana, and folk. “Steele and Stone’ has the feel of old mountain music, with the fiddle/banjo intro. We wanted this song to capture the early 1900s time period. The crowds at our live performances always enjoy this song, so we hope the new listeners will as well,” said Bailey.

“Steele and Stone” comes on the heels of his other strong single, “Camille,” which also includes a music video release.
